Frost & Sullivan Recognizes ENHA for Its RANGER Helmets That Provide Unparalleled Head Protection

Technological improvements and flexibility to custom-tailor features make ENHA’s helmets ideal for diverse industry applications

MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif. — May 3, 2016 — Based on its recent analysis of the head protection market, Frost & Sullivan recognizes ENHA GmbH (ENHA) with the 2016 European Frost & Sullivan Award for New Product Innovation. ENHA’s proprietary RANGER helmets reflect the company’s in-depth understanding of customer needs and its ability to address demand through product innovation. With longer lasting, safer, and better designed helmets, ENHA helps employers mitigate accident liability and keep workers safe through ideal head protection solutions.

“ENHA’s RANGER helmets offer several innovative features that are aimed at revolutionizing the European head protection gear market,” said Frost & Sullivan Senior Research Analyst Aparna Balasubramanian. “Some of these innovative features include a ‘Crash Box’ on top of the helmet, the easy integration of visors and ear muffs without changing the equipment design, and space for adding high-visibility reflective stickers. These features make the helmet ideal for diverse industry applications including electrical utilities, forestry and mining, among many others.”

Rigorous testing involving end users in real-world industrial environments means that RANGER helmets effectively address key unmet market and customer needs and greatly improve comfort and safety. The development process strictly complies with ISO 9001:2008. The company also ensures that its helmet test environment follows EN 397 safety regulations, at different temperature settings, varying between 50°C and -30°C.

“Traditional helmets are generally reinforced in the center, which is the area most likely to experience impact from a falling object. This, however, makes the helmets stiff and almost 100 percent of any impact energy will go through the equipment to the user’s head,” explained Balasubramanian. “ENHA’s Crash Box is strategically located at the center of the helmet. By properly absorbing impact through destruction of the Crash Box, the helmet can endure an impact capacity of 5,000 N (newtons), which is significantly higher than the tolerance level of other products in the market.”

The Crash Zone is double-walled and the helmet shell and components are made of a blend of acrylonitrile-butadiene styrene and polycarbonate, increasing the helmet life from the average 4 years to 6 years, which is 50 percent better than that of traditional helmets. This reduces frequency of replacement and lowers operating costs for customers. The helmet shell is created using premium ultraviolet (UV)-stabilized granulate; therefore, weathering effects of heat, cold, and temperature fluctuations do not affect performance or reliability when compared to competing helmets.

“ENHA’s forward thinking, like employing principles from the automobile sector into head protection, is one of the key factors that clearly distinguishes it from competitors in Europe,” stressed Aparna. “RANGER helmets offer customers the best value for the money in terms of enhancing users’ overall safety and customers’ need for product customization. Based on recent feedback from customers, the company strongly believes that within the next few years, it will be able to double the current turnover.”

To educate customers about the unique scope of benefits provided by RANGER helmets and to further fuel adoption, ENHA actively participates in tradeshows to meet customers face-to-face. The company has also partnered with several key distributors across Europe to extend a superior customer service and purchase experience.

For its strong overall performance, ENHA is the worthy recipient of the Frost & Sullivan 2016 New Product Innovation Award. Each year, Frost & Sullivan presents this award to a company that has developed an innovative element for a product by leverage leading-edge technologies. The award recognizes the value-added features/benefits of the product and the increased ROI it offers customers, which, in turn, increases customer acquisition and overall market penetration potential.
