Future Vehicle Systems & Technologies

Frost & Sullivan’s Future Vehicle Systems & Technologies division is the largest in the company in terms of both its resources and sales turnover. The team is structured across six key program areas, each with a dedicated program manager and a team of analysts who track the technology of their designated program area on a daily basis.

Over the years, our team’s accurate predictions about technology uptake have led to bold and, predictably, successful recommendations. In 1999, the team published its first report on vehicle telematics in which it predicted the rise of the connected car, which is an industry Mega Trend today. In 2001, the team published a study asserting that X by wire technologies—especially electrohydraulic braking systems (EHB)—would not succeed. This prediction proved true; several brakes by wire programs shut down and uptake of the technology slowed down due to the non-availability of a high voltage power net. Finally, one of the team’s best predictions was the growth of diesel in Europe back in 2000. We got the trend right, even if we underestimated the extent of its use, which stands at over fifty percent today.

Latest Research

Frost & Sullivan’s future vehicles systems and technologies group produce over 60 strategic studies every year. Each study banks over 500 hours of work from analysts whose research methods include interviewing all major industry stakeholders. The team has published over 500 studies in the last 10 years. The team also publishes strategic market insights, movers and shakers interviews with industry thought leaders and white papers. The research covers dynamic future vehicle systems and future technologies on a global basis.

The research team maintains strong relationships with the OEMs and suppliers and leverages the relationships through primary interviews with them to provide a holistic and unbiased opinion of what technologies and features will be embraced, when, and on which vehicles. The team conducts market, technology, customer, competitive, and comparative analysis of supplier and OEM strategies.

Over the last decade, the team has expanded it footprint to include analysis of both developed and emerging markets. The team has a strong presence now in all key markets around the world, which includes five offices each in India, the ASEAN region, and China; three offices in LATAM and the Middle East; and a growing presence in Africa. To support our clients in Japan, we now translate some of our key reports into Japanese and will soon offer the same service to our Chinese clients.
